The Hally Gally on Roughton Common 

The Common, situated in the heart of the busy village of Roughton, could only boast a single set of swings for the children of the village. The play area committee were very specific in their needs fro new equipment. They had listened to the parents and children alike and there wish list included a toddler area for the very youngest along with some more testing and exciting items taht would keep even the teenagers of the village interested. In particular,they wanted a Hally gally that is only available from the German company Huck. All they needed was someone to turn their dreams into reality. NGF undertook to source a Hally gally and install it alongside the usual array of exciting PlayQuest timber frames and swings. A basketball hoop for the teenagers completed the project.

The village playing field that serves the villages of both Eccles and Quidenham had never had any play equipment for the youngsters of the villages. At the end of 2006 a committee was formed to raise funds to pay for the installation of some equipment that would be suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. NGF undertook to modify a PlayQuest Platfrm Play 1 so that it could be built on two levels to accomodate the very youngest children at a low level, as well as those aged ten and over. Two sets of swings and a springer were also installed to complete the project.

Safety Surface was required under and around all of this equipment. Safagrass was used as the most cost effective option with the added bonus of becoming totally unseen and thus maintaining the rural look of the playing field.

The New Play Area on Beechamwell Green 

The Green, situated in the heart of the rural village of Beachmwell had never had any play equipment for the children of the village. A  small play area committee was set up led by local farmer’s wife Caroline Sanderson. She undertook to raise the necessary funds for the play area by applying for funding from the National Lottery via Breckland Council. Planning permission was also required. Norfolk Games and Frames helped in the planning at every stage, from deciding on the best equipment for the particular age range, to supplying drawings to aid with planning permission to submitting a proposal, necessary to gain the funding from the lottery. The Result – A fantastic new play area with climbing, balancing, swinging and role play items. A picnic table, bench, litter bin and our heavy duty fencing completed the project.

As part of a large building project at Swaffham Infant School, Norfolk Games and Frames undertook to provide a new play area combined with a shelter to provide cover from light rain and shade from the sun.

The Critical Fall Height of the equipment dictated that a safety surface was required. Wetpour was installed under and around all the equipment.

A combination of funding by the school and parents of Hockering Primary School allowed for the installation of an Adventure Trail and Pavilion on the playing field of the school.

With space at a premium on the playing field it was decided to locate the adventure play equipment around the outside as close to the hedge as possible to allow for other games on the rest of the grass.
